To inspire innovators to bring potentially groundbreaking unit dose packaging options to the market – with a focus on child-resistant, user-friendly, non-reclosable designs - Johnson & Johnson Innovation together with the packaging innovation team within Johnson & Johnson Consumer Inc. is launching the Packaging Design QuickFire Challenge: Unit Dose Technologies. Potential innovations can include both solids (tablets, capsules and powders) and liquids (solutions and suspensions) in unit-dose formats (e.g. blisters, sachets and stick packs). Primary and secondary packaging or combination of the two are in scope of the challenge.
The Luxembourg National Research Fund and the Luxembourg Ministry of Agriculture, Viticulture and Rural Development (MAVDR) are looking for innovative solutions to help the country meet its environmental sustainability goals. Their joint call for proposals, part of a sustainable agriculture and food systems initiative, focuses on the following key areas: 1 - Adaptation of Luxemburg’s agriculture to climate change 2 - Adaptation of local farming practices to improve their impact on water resources 3 - Adaptation of local farming practices to improve their impact on biodiversity
Two types of collaborative innovation projects with a maximum duration of 6 months are supported: GROW projects that focus on the co-creation/co-development of technologies for the Construction sector and lead to one of the following outcomes (concept proofed in experiment / technology validated in lab / technology validated in relevant environment) HARVEST projects that focus on the integration/uptake of existing or underexploited technologies/solutions or technological assets for their reuse/application in the Construction sector and lead to one of the following outcomes (system prototype demonstrated in operational environment / system completed and qualified / system proofed in operational environment /system and production routine implemented).
Focused Technology Transfer Experiments (FTTEs), focusing on one of the four defined underrepresented areas, will give the opportunity to form synergies, accelerate product orient projects and offer guidance towards successful commercialisation; It's a short-term (6-9 months) PAEs between two different entities from two different EU Countries: one Academic and one Industrial or two industrials. Within these type of experiments, one party transfers to the receiving partner a specific Hardware (HW) or Software (SW) technology in order to enable improved product or processes.
DigiCirc is looking for European SMEs/Start-ups that can use digital tools and apply cutting-edge solutions in the circular economy by addressing specific challenges in the domain of Blue Economy. With the second open call, DigiCirc will select a minimum of 15 consortia, composed of at least 2 SMEs/Startups, that will develop innovative solutions focused on digital technologies by addressing the Blue Economy challenges presented below. SMEs will be given the opportunity to use the DigiCirc Matchmaking Platform to look for other SMEs in case they need a partner to build a consortium.

MoSAIC – Mobile Standoff Autonomous Indoor Capabilities

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Irregular Warfare Technical Support Directorate (IWTSD) and the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD), Directorate of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&D) are seeking cutting edge hardware and software solutions to address some of the challenging and longstanding technological gaps concerning remote autonomous indoor maneuver. It is evident that there will be no single technological solution but rather a toolbox of scalable, layered, modular, and multi-functional capabilities to enable operators to remotely and autonomously perform the full range of indoor missions. Accordingly, the MoSAIC Challenge will be executed as five distinct “Mini Challenges,” with each focusing on a specific enabling capability for remote autonomous indoor maneuver: indoor navigation, room mapping, human/object tagging, tactical robotic systems, human presence detection.
