MoSAIC – Mobile Standoff Autonomous Indoor Capabilities

The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Irregular Warfare Technical Support Directorate (IWTSD) and the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD), Directorate of Defense Research and Engineering (DDR&D) are seeking cutting edge hardware and software solutions to address some of the challenging and longstanding technological gaps concerning remote autonomous indoor maneuver. It is evident that there will be no single technological solution but rather a toolbox of scalable, layered, modular, and multi-functional capabilities to enable operators to remotely and autonomously perform the full range of indoor missions. Accordingly, the MoSAIC Challenge will be executed as five distinct “Mini Challenges,” with each focusing on a specific enabling capability for remote autonomous indoor maneuver: indoor navigation, room mapping, human/object tagging, tactical robotic systems, human presence detection.

For example: Food products, snacks, meals, candies with less (artificial) additives and less fat, sugar, salt and/or higher nutritional values or concentrations of nutrients like vitamins, minerals and fibers. Clean Label products. Ingredients & functional nutrients. Functional (natural) nutrients or additives like vitamins and minerals, fiber. Healthier replacements for fat, sugar and salt. Fresh & natural. New products and convenience (fresh) concepts that increase or stimulate the consumption of fresh and natural foods.

In this Open Call theme we are looking for solutions that makes healthier choices and behavioral change easier. For Example: Healthy convenience and nudging concepts in the out of home, foodservice and (online) retail markets making healthy choices easier. Consumer empowerment concepts supporting healthy food choices and consumption like for instance recipe tool, menu boxes and comparable solutions. Personalized or targeted nutrition and diet concepts, products or services. Solutions that deliver ‘personal’ advice to specific target groups. Healthy food concepts and solutions for catering and canteens.

In this Open Call theme, we are looking for food solution for better health, faster recovery or better (sport) performance. For example: Health and Immunity (health) enhancing food, drinks or ingredients, like gut supporting foods/ingredients (e.g. fiber, dairy). Food solutions for a better (sports) performance. Recovery food with specific nutritional value for specific groups (e.g. patients, infants, elderly). Products for specific target groups (e.g. diabetics, food allergy, intolerances). Any other solutions that fit within the theme.

In this Open Call theme, we are looking novel supporting technological and scientific solution that will help the transition to healthier food, diets and society. For example: Solutions for (easy) measurements of food intake and health status. Modelling, data science and artificial intelligence solutions for fact or science-based food (production) choices. Digital platforms like apps and tools (e.g. for personalized food, influencing behavior). Development of tests to assess the health impact of food (ingredients), e.g. gut simulation, stress or challenge tests. Chemical or biological technology platforms e.g. to develop alternative substitutes for unhealthy nutrients.

The Housing Supply Challenge (HSC) invites citizens, stakeholders, and experts from across Canada to propose innovative solutions to the barriers that limit the creation of new housing. $300 million in funding is available through the various rounds of the Challenge, resulting in new ideas and solutions that will help more people find an affordable place to call home. The challenge objectives are to: - Address barriers to housing supply and affordability. - Enhance community engagement. - Inspire others to scale or adapt ideas for “Canada-wide impact”. - Cultivate collaboration and partnerships. - The Challenge will also provide a platform to share these innovative solutions, acting as a catalyst for others to take action.
